Second Blessing – Coffee

It’s probably more of a dependency thing, but really I love coffee so much and glad that it exists. Perhaps some of the things I consider a blessing are shallow, but I think anything that makes us happy. I’ve found out that coffee isn’t really bad for us anyway…in moderation!

I’ve been so busy with other work that I haven’t gotten a chance to doing as many squares. I haven’t even finished the grid yet…but just gotta keep at it!

First Blessing – My Soulmate

My first blessing is about my husband, my soulmate. Us together…it’s such a wonderful thing and I could not be more thankful. I can’t really express it all in words… :)

I drew out a pair of hearts together for my first square and just filled in the hearts with a light pink floss. The border is the Palestrina stitch and although it’s not the most perfect hand embroidery, I’m in love with what it represents and means to me. Loving this project and will be working on my next square.

One thing I have to find is a new source for embroidery floss. It costs 1.40 euros here for one tiny skein…eek!

Sublime Stitching Guides

I just discovered on the Sublime Stitching website that they have guides! I am totally going to check them out to make sure I’m not completely clueless. Finding it hard to really dig in and stitch…eek! http://www.sublimestitching.com/stitches

I think there is always that fear of doing it wrong and looking silly – even if technically you can undo the stitching and start over. Sigh. I’ve also been busy with work, but brainstorming how I’m going to stitch my first blessing square – being married to my wonderful husband. We are coming up on our first anniversary, so it’s exciting and wonderful and all that lovey dovey stuff. I’m not sure what I want to stitch to represent the blessing…it seems so deep and complicated. Rings, hearts…hmm…
